It's always a good idea to call or email first to confirm availability. Travel insurance is not required, but is highly recommended (see link below), and will protect you against many potential problems that can occur. After your deposit and reservation form are received, you will receive a
confirmation of your reservation and a statement of your remaining balance and due date. Full payment is due 60 days before the start of your tour, and can be paid by check or credit card. You will also receive more detailed information on the trip, a list of suggested clothing and equipment, and directions for joining the tour.
Departure night: Most of you will need to spend a night in your departure city before flying home the next day. Ask us about adding a night in Zurich, Geneva or Lucerne. We have comfortable and convenient 3 and 4-star favorites in each city.
1st class rail: 1st-class Swiss Cards are also available for $50 extra. You'll be able to ride 1st-class on your arrival and departure days (trains taken during the tour, if any, will still be 2nd-class). We can also arrange other railpasses instead of Swiss Cards if your plans call for something different. Call or email if you have questions about your situation.
Insurance: To protect yourself in the event you need to cancel your tour,
trip cancellation and travel insurance is highly recommended. We've linked to a specific package with TravelGuard, an industry leader, that works well for our tour members. You'll receive extra benefits if you insure your trip within 2 weeks of signing up. When prompted, please list your agent as Alpinehikers.
Pretrip info: You can also view our pretrip packet or a copy of our printed brochure online here.
Gear up: You can find links to online stores for hiking gear, plane tickets, suggested books, insurance and more on our Travel Gear page.
Referral discounts: Refer new travelers to your tour (or to another tour) and share $200 in trip savings. See details at www.alpinehikers.com/referrals.
Thank you for your reservation, and we look forward to meeting you in the Alps!
